Our sweet baby boo is 5 months old today! Here he is pictured doing his favorite thing - grabbing his feet! He likes grabbing, hitting, and flailing at basically everything, most notably mommy's face while nursing. (Nursing is another story altogether, as Emet isn't that big of a fan of eating at all--pretty much forget trying to feed him in public, he needs to be wrapped in his sleep sack with white noise to eat, breast or bottle. Sigh...)
He also absolutely adores his big sister, and focuses laserlike on Eden whenever she is around. His biggest smiles and laughs are reserved for her, though he also laughs and smiles at grownups' silly dancing.
Emet rolls over from tummy to back - something that eluded Eden at this age (and for several months afterward). He can roll from back to side too, not quite all the way over.
He seems to have hit a version of the 4 month regression, where he wakes up more easily such as when Daddy comes to bed, and the past few days he has been waking up every couple of hours but not every night--and still settles relatively easy with pacifier unless he's hungry, and mostly goes down easily after feeding. But when he decides he's not tired, no matter what time it is, he'll just sing, or lie there with his eyes open, until he either falls back asleep or gets hungry and cries.
We waited til 6 months to feed Eden any solid food, but have given Emet a couple of spoonfuls of sweet potato, and Grammy may give him some avocado this week. Given that he is such a finicky eater, I'm kind of thinking it could be a good idea to get him used to the concept of eating other stuff sooner rather than later!
Happy 5-month birthday, Emet!
