Shana Tova!
5774 was quite a year! In October was our T'naim ceremony ... then in November we welcomed baby Eden. Since then we have worked hard at learning to be parents, work, and create and play music together. We have had many happy times - our nephew Matthew turned one in August, and we learned that we are expecting another nephew this coming January. This past year also carried the tragic loss of cousin Rachel in April. In May we all flew to Chicago to celebrate Rachel's life, and were blessed to hear and see many wonderful tributes to her.
5774 was a very intense year all in all. In 5775, we hope to take it a little easier - coinciding with the Shmita year. Officially starting with the wedding we have committed to spending every Shabbat together as a family from sundown Friday to sundown Saturday. Since we both travel for work occasionally, and both have opportunities to perform on weekends, there will definitely be challenges. If one of us is performing, the family has to be there too - otherwise we will turn down the performance. It is particularly interesting because we often perform together for Shabbat services. We've decided to scale this back as well, and focus primarily on our kirtan chant service this year.
A meaningful fast to those who do, and a blessed 5775 to you all!
Bonnie, Michael, & Eden
(and Henry and Goldbug too - maybe we'll be ambitious enough to try to get them in the picture next year)
P.S. the honey is a prop - don't worry, we know she can't have any yet!
