Emet cooing

One thing that Emet does differently than Eden at his age is waking up relatively happy in the morning.  He'll wake up and try to get your attention by making little noises and cooing (they'll turn to crying if you don't go play with him quickly).

Check out this video of some morning noises...he makes a cute noise right at the very end!

Let it go!

I caught a snippet of Eden casually singing Let It Go from Frozen before bathtime...

Thanks to Grammy for putting it together!!!

Potty training... fail?

Sometimes I use this space just to document stuff that I am likely to forget later, and this is one of those times - definitely has been useful when I run into some issue with Emet to go back and read old blog posts about sleep, breastfeeding, etc.  So, here goes with the potty training update, if you're interested...

New house!

New house!  We love it!

It's a beautiful house.  Here's a link to professional photos of the house before we destroyed with our stuff!

And we were pleasantly surprised to have a beautiful view of the Atlanta skyline (including Bonnie's office!).  Here's a photo at sunset the first night:

The kids love the house so far.  Here are some recent photos:

First bath together!  And first bath at the new house.

Daddy & Eden.  She's starting to look like a little girl!

Eden quote when she first saw the huge master shower - "It's a big castle of a shower!"  Then "this is amazing!"

She brought several of her dolls in to her new playroom castle... um, I mean our shower.

Just after he rolled over!

Moving

We're in, finally!

We moved into our new house, which is a new build in North Ormewood Park.  We were extremely lucky to have my parents helping us unpack and get settled.  We'll try to do a post that goes into more detail about the house, the building process, and the absolute insanity that was the last week... but for now, here's some first pictures:

Emet on the floor of his new room before movein

Eden on master bathroom potty ("That's a great little potty!")

Happy boys in mommy/daddy's new king size bed!

Grampy and Grammy with the kids on our new porch swing

Family after hanging first mezuzah just before Shabbat - thanks Gal (or Maya's ima, as Eden knows her)

Eden's second album

We recorded this at the end of 2015.  Eden is singing 6 tracks along with Daddy & Mommy.

Enjoy!

Eden comments on potty training:

Michael: Should we put her in regular underwear or a pullup for the drive?
Me (to Michael): I'm on the fence...
Eden:  You are NOT on the fence. You are on the COUCH!

Me in the car: Are you wet or dry?
Eden (grins)
Me: Did you pee pee in your pullup?
Eden: I did.
Me: Why?
Eden: Because I did.

(Note: She had in fact NOT peed in her pullup.  Also, "why" was obviously a silly question but we were kind of joking about it.)

Back to work!

Today is my first day back at work.  Taking a quick break while pumping to share a few photos and let everyone know that we are completely overwhelmed (in a good way) right now - going back to work full time all at once, plus moving in a little over two weeks!

And on top of all that... Eden has started the potty-training journey!  She has done pretty well so far, but it's really hard to do a quick method when she is in daycare.  And her new daycare is less routinized about potty training than her previous class so I expect it to be much slower going.  Hoping to solidify/finalize during her spring break in April  Montessori is very focused on self-help skills; Reggio not so much from what I can tell so far - though I'm no expert.

Thank GOODNESS my mom is here to be the Grammy nanny to Emet and help us in COUNTLESS other ways.  I really don't know how I would be doing it without her.

Emet is really growing like crazy - I have not weighed him in awhile, but he has started to look huge, and like a regular baby instead of a newborn.  I can't believe how quickly that flew by.
