Emet Rafael Levine was born November 11, 2015, at 7:14 AM. He weighed 7 lbs, 11 oz, and was (allegedly) 19 inches.
I am in the process of writing down his birth story in all its gory detail so I don't forget it - but the long and short of it is that Emet was born after a 5-hour labor, the first part of which I thought was indigestion, and without surgery or an epidural. I begged for the epidural the entire time I was laboring in the hospital (really only 2 hours), but they weren't able to get it to me in time.
As for post-birth recovery, it is very different than after C-section - and this recovery is not without its unique difficulties - but Emet is 3 weeks old today and I think I can safely say it's been a much easier process overall than after surgery.
Here are some pictures of Emet, his big sister, and our new family!
