What does a lion say?
Add "sounds a lion makes" to the list of words Eden knows (which does not yet include "mama"!)
The full list, in order of when she said the word:
uh-oh
dada (she calls us both this)
wow
that
doggie (questionable)
roar
Her receptive language has grown like crazy! She can follow some instructions now (when she wants to) like "go pick out a book to read." I love this phase - my favorite so far, though I could do with less whining... :)

Two Songs for Eden!
Eden has been picking up the hand movements for more songs lately! It's so fun to watch her growing.

Happy birthday Annie!
Eden and her friend Annie went out to celebrate their birthdays, escorted by moms. Breakfast at flying biscuit, followed by a walk and the playground!
They both fell asleep at the end of the walk, and Eden stayed that way all the way home!

Thanksgiving Weekend 2014
We had lots of fun staying in town this weekend! We missed seeing more family, but after the big wedding excitement it was good to chill out a bit. We spent 5 full days with Eden - we hadn't spent that much solid time with Eden since she was newborn!
Thursday morning we went on a little hike with the Rosenthal family:
That evening we stopped by Matt & Becca's for part of their dinner before heading to the Varon's for Thanksgiving dinner (Bonnie's friend Jen & her mom who volunteered as our wedding planner).
Friday afternoon we went again with the Rosenthals to the zoo!
Saturday we mostly chilled at home. I took Eden to brunch with Michael Gellman. That afternoon we experimented with putting on our first children's TV show for Eden. Wow - she was transfixed!
Saturday night Bonnie & I went to Steve's Live Music to celebrate our friend Russell's 30th birthday. We played a couple of songs for him & had a good time. Later we stopped in Babies R Us and picked up a little pull-out sofa for Eden at half price (featuring Frozen characters - the first movie she ever saw, as a 1.5 month old). Eden took to it right away - our kid knows how to relax in style!
Sunday we had the biggest best time in the afternoon. We went to the Atlanta Childrens Museum - Eden was in heaven!
Then we walked 15 minutes down the road to our first Falcons game - our friend Randy Crohn won free tickets & invited us. It was a pretty amazing spectacle!
Walking back to the car, we couldn't resist riding the new ferris wheel with a view of Atlanta...
Eden had fun being tickled while 100 feet in the air :-)

Eden Reading Bedtime at the Nut House before bed!
Eden loves this book! She loves the pictures, and she has started doing the hand movements!
The first verse is the most entertaining, but feel free to watch the rest too. There are some fun moments.
Here's the animated promo video for the book (that Eric wrote & I produced the music for):

Eden Cleaning Up Toys
Daycare must be teaching her well! (And we try to do clean up before bedtime too). I was impressed that Eden was successfully putting each "cookie" into her toy cookie tube/box.
Eden's first dance!
We were watching Saturday Night Live and Bruno Mars came on as the musical guest. Eden apparently loved it and was groovin' and clapping to the beat! We had never seen her dance before :-)

Walking!
Eden started walking a week ago Friday! Aunt Becky saw her first 2 steps while sitting for her. And by this past Thursday we counted 7 steps in a row, and today I counted 12! Her teachers say she is determined to walk, and we believe it. Every spare moment she is trying to stand up and walk - usually while holding a toy or something fun.
Last weekend at Zach & Alexis' wedding we caught her practicing standing up, and ALMOST walking:
Throughout the week she's made tons of progress. Here she is with Bonnie & Aunt Becky:
And it turns out her cousin Matthew is just starting to walk at the same time! So cool!

Eden wins Halloween
Eden was well enough after her surgery to have a pretty active Halloween!
Eden was a field mouse for Halloween.
Eden wasn't just an awfully cute field mouse. She was part of a family costume, where her daddy was "Little Bunny Foo Foo" and her mama was "the good fairy." If you are somehow not familiar with this children's song, check it out on TLG: http://www.thelearninggroove.com/#!little-bunny-foo-foo/c1r6m

Eden participated in her school's parade
| There was actually another little gray mouse in her class of 12, not pictured here |

And then went to Aunt Becky and Uncle Matt's house for trick or treating!

But here's where the story gets really funny.
Before Eden's surgery had even been scheduled, Aunt Becky had heard about our costume idea and suggested we enter into East Atlanta Village's family/group costume category. In my typical fashion these days, I said "forward it to Michael." And then we never thought about it again.
When walking from their house to East Atlanta to check it out, we noticed the costume contest taking place nearby. "Did you guys ever register for that?" Becca asked me. "I don't know, Michael, did you?" I asked. "Actually, I did," he said - even though he never told either of us he'd filled the form out!
So we walked over to the costume contest, and the announcer immediately said "the next category is Family/Group Costume." And seconds later, the announcer called out: "Eden Levine, Little Bunny Foo Foo, the Good Fairy, and field mouse."

So Eden had a really big day - tube surgery in the morning, and winning a Halloween costume contest in the evening.
Next up... making a family music video! We'll probably do this again for Purim too (her costume should still fit her then).

Post-surgery - so far so good!
Eden seems to have done well in surgery! Uncle Matt came with us to the outpatient center early this morning, since Daddy had a gig. Even though it was earlier than she usually gets up, and she didn't get anything to eat or drink in the morning, she was pretty chill during transit, and the surgery waiting room had lots of fun toys!
When we were called back into pre-op, we put Eden in a purple hospital gown... at this point she started to realize she was hungry and became pretty whiny. But we still got a few good photos!
Mama accompanied her while the doctors put her under anesthesia. Waah! Waah! Waah! Waah! Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz....
Then, pretty much less than 10 minutes later, they wheeled this little bundle in...
Sleeping Eden lasted all of 20 seconds, after which she woke up and started thrashing around and screaming. She wouldn't nurse for more than a few seconds before popping off and crying. She was extremely cranky for the first 1/2 hour after she woke up, which we're told is normal! She cried off and on until uncle Matt gave her a bottle in the car.
After that, she seemed totally normal! Or even dare I say... better than normal! She came in and had breakfast of eggs and bananas, was talking up a storm, and then went down for a nap very quickly and easily and is still resting.
And..
She's sleeping on her back! We were told that having ear infections/fluid in the ears makes being on your back less pleasant. And we haven't seen her stay sleeping on her back for a long time. So, the evidence so far indicates that she WAS suffering from the fluid in her ears, and isn't anymore!
Overall, the procedure was far less traumatic than being on the phone with the doctor's office about the procedure yesterday. Thanks for all the prayers and thoughts and well wishes. And BIG thanks to Uncle Matt (Eden's birthday buddy) for being absolutely essential to my sanity this morning.
