Fun after school with Jena

Eden went to Jena's this afternoon!  (Actually Jena was originally supposed to come to Eden's, but Eden's house was too much of a disaster and "Eden" was extremely embarrassed about it.)  Eden really liked Jena - so much that she even managed to smile some during the dreaded TUMMY TIME.

SMILE - documented.

Splish Splash, Eden's Taking a Bath! (Video)

Eden recently discovered the joys of splashing in the tub!

Eden's Big Day at the Zoo!

Eden had a fun day with mom, dad & friends this Sunday!  In the morning we went to brunch with 3 other new families, and then we hit the zoo for our friend Randy's birthday party, where other friends were there with young kids.

First, brunch at Vivi & Dave's (and little Annie):

Maya, Noah, Annie & Eden

Napping in Annie's crib (with the same sheet we have!)

Annie playing with her new doll made by Eden's Grammy Beth

 Then, the zoo!
Eden matches the zebras!  (Look closely - the zebras are to the right of Eden's head)

The gang hanging.  Eden's in her new front-facing carrier.

Readin' Eden

We know Eden enjoys a good book. I caught her here devouring this animal tale.

A real page turner!

Her reaction was two-tiered:

Norovirus!

Last week was Eden's school's spring break (yes, our 5 month old goes to a school with a spring break) - so Grammy was going to come down to help out right before her regional conference.

Right before the break, the school had an ominous note on the whiteboard: "3 confirmed cases of stomach bug."  We were nervous - but they told us none of the littler babies had gotten it yet so I held out hope.

Then that very night, Michael started puking.  But, Eden didn't have any stomach bug, so how could Michael have it?  We were hoping it was food poisoning.

The very next night, Grammy got an even worse version of the illness.

The following night, I got it.

The next night, Eden's uncle Matt got it.

There is lots of gross stuff one could say about this horrible bug... at least it is mercifully brief.  And at least I have a supportive boss.

Aunt Becca and Grampy managed to stay well, though Becca got queasy and put a ton of effort into not getting sick.  And you know who else has managed to stay completely norovirus free so far?  Miss Eden!  This despite that I literally puked on her while trying to feed her in the middle of the night!  ("MICHAEL, QUICK, TAKE THE BABY!")  Her teachers think that the little babies didn't get the bug because they're on breast milk... I am quite happy to credit breastfeeding, because it validates what has been a massively difficult choice for me, though of course there is no way of proving or disproving this.  Also, there is a major possibility she will get sick within 24 hours of me posting this.

As everyone around her falls ill one by one

Hanging with Friends!

Here are several photos & videos of Eden hanging with friends over the last month or so.

Storytime at Daycare

You can see how Eden is really pondering the deeper meanings in the book being read to the class (which is a picture book about how babies grow).
